IDle hands...

Supposedly idle hands are the devil's tool. I say BULLSHIT. I am so busy that I am starting to feel less than happy. In fact, I feel like I am busy doing something all the time, but not doing a good job at any of it. This includes Oscar and Felix. I try to carve out time for just them and the things they want. It just puts me further behind and more stresses. My business, I love it. I should give it up. However, when you have three jobs it is hard to give up the one you truly enjoy. I am trying hard to just hold on, I keep praying for direction, but somehow I keep feeling like I am slipping.

Here is to the longest 9 months of my life. May God bless me, because my hands are anything but idle.

Weekly Update

1. Oscar has this new thing where when I catch him red handed with something or in a compromising positionhe always says "you didn't see me do it" HE is not concerned about the big pile of crumbs at his feet or the red paint on his hands.

2. Felix stated this week he is Chato's teacher, because "he doesn't know much and it is my job to tell him everything"

3. Felix decided to outdo his grossness of last week at the zoo splashpad by putting his finger IN his but and then wiping it on his brother's shirt.

4. Wine Glasses in my house are doomed. If inanimate objects had feelings, any glassware coming into my house would be weeping. I bought a set of mercury rimmed glasses and Chato broke one in the driveway before it even made it in.

5. The boys rode their bikes today for the first time without training wheels. A good first effort, but we definately need more practice.

6. LAst week Felix read his first book. He may have been reading before, but I wasn't sure until I bought a book he had never read. Oscar only had the patience for about four pages.

Strange Sweetness

When Chato and I were first dating, I had this mean little game I would play with him. We would lay in bed at night listening to Astrud Gilberto or Stereolab before going to sleep, and every night I would ask him “to tell me something sweet.” Every night he would stumble and stammer trying to come up with something. It was usually a pretty lame and generic answer. I think a lot of the time he faked being asleep to try and get out of it. My husband is neither eloquent nor romantic, so this was essentially torturous to him. I kept this game going for a couple of years, but slowly gave it up.

For Mother’s Day I got a copy of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros album. Some people would think that this was lousy, but we have a strict no present purchasing rule for gifts. He copied it from a friend so no rules were broken. Anywho, Chato said the Home song along with being the catchiest tune of the year also reminded him of us. I was for sure it was the line that starts “motes and boats and waterfalls...”

He said it wasn’t. That it was the middle of the song, when they quit singing and the guy talks about when the girl falls out of the window and is bleeding everywhere. He then tells her that is when he started falling in love with her.

Chato said it reminds him of the summer we met and he blacked my eye trying to teach me to kayak. When my black eye healed he dropped me on the gravel in the parking lot and busted open my head. He said he knew he was in love, because he was so worried about me he wasn’t even squeamish.

That was really something sweet.

I finally got an Anonymous Comment or three

So, I have never had an Anonymous Post and I recently realized I had three. Evidently, some people have strong feelings about unicorns or gay men scantily dressed as them. However, that one picture seems to be popular. It brings 40 people to my site a day. Who woulda thunk it. I am pretty sure my eleven year old fan might be someone in my family, making a joke. Anywhoo, check out what no name has to say.
